OXILUBE: ECOLOGICAL SYSTEM FOR STABILISING EMULSIONS IN MACHINE TOOLS
WHAT IT IS
The lack of oxygen in coolant solutions causes serious problems such as the formation of anaerobic bacterial colonies (which develop in the absence of oxygen), resulting in the putrefaction of emulsions as well as the generation of unpleasant odours and slimes capable of clogging cooling circuits, in addition to the generation of oxidation in ferrous metals throughout the workshop. OXILUBE — an absolute NOVELTY in the field of mechanical engineering and more specifically in the machine tool sector — is a device used to finely oxygenate coolant solutions, whether mineral, semi-synthetic or synthetic, in order to prevent the phenomena described above.
HOW IT WORKS
OXILUBE “exploits” a small quantity of compressed air available in all mechanical workshops; it is sufficient to connect the air circuit to the pressure reducer using a “rilsan” tube of 6/8 mm and set it to 0.2 – 0.4 atm. OXILUBE is particularly effective in the “flotation” of any oils other than coolant fluids, such as guide oils that end up in the tanks “suffocating” them. OXILUBE generates a gentle movement that promotes the separation of the two types of oils, thus facilitating their removal either by suction or through mechanical systems such as an oil skimmer. OXILUBE also works in extreme conditions, i.e. when the surface oil layer is very thick, as its oxygen-release action takes place even below the oil layer.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS
- Extended service life and better preservation of the coolant, which will thus maintain better efficiency over time;
- Reduced use of chemical stabilising agents;
- Better coolant quality, resulting in longer tool life and improved surface finish (less waste) of machined parts;
- Improved operating conditions; significant reduction of putrefaction phenomena and unpleasant odours throughout the workshop;
- Better machine maintenance; significant reduction of unwanted oxidation phenomena attributable to coolant fermentation.
DIMENSIONS & SIZING
The dimensions of OXILUBE are approximately 400 x 50 x 25 mm. The use of one (1) OXILUBE unit is sufficient to keep oxygenated a machine tool containing 300/500 litres of coolant solution. In the case of larger capacities (up to 1,000 litres) or where complex tanks with multiple sections are present, it is advisable to add further OXILUBE units at the points of greatest capacity, or to switch to OXILUBE XXL.
